Remembrance Day visit at Samuel’s

November 11, 2011

We were invited to visit Samuel and stay for supper.  When we arrived, we all wanted to go for a hike over to Cowden Road.  We parked at P16 and took the grassy trail over to Cowden, as soon as Samuel had a change in the back of the van.
Grant pulled him in the wagon, but he tumbled off when the wagon hit a bump.  After that, he mostly walked on his own, or pushed the wagon from behind.  We went as far as the bridge over Meech Creek, noting that the NCC has now demolished all of the remaining houses that were on Cowden. Samuel kept busy loking for a stick, un baton" for Boots to chew.

When we returned to Samuel’s house, Barbara opened some Play Doh for him to play with.  Then we had a wonderful beef stew that Karine had prepared in the slow cooker.

Samuel’s Saturday visit

November 5, 2011

Karine was in Halifax for a course and Kirk had some work to do on the stairs in his house.  So he brought Samuel over at 9am to spend the day. We had a great time together.

Uncle Grant entertained him with his garage and bus. He also enjoyed a couple of apples and playing the piano.

He hopped in his wagon for a visit to see Mary Anne on her birthday. One little boy and three adults at the Space Park on a beautiful day. Samuel enjoyed trying out the equipment, although he was little shy when he found another boy his age.

After lunch, he had a long nap over 3 hours, then it was time to go home. He and Grandpa sat on the stairs to put their shoes/boots on.
Kirk continued to work, just stopping for supper, while Samuel had dinner and played with his toys. We tucked a tired boy in before we left.

S the Skunk

October 30, 2011

After our three week vacation we were anxious to see Samuel. When we arrived for a visit, he was outdoors “helping” his Dad who was putting wheelbarrow loads of compost on the garden. He helped fill a Halloween bag with leaves and played with Grant. Suddenly he remembered our gravel shoveling time a month ago. He ran to the shed and pointed to the pail for the rocks. Soon we were busy shoveling gravel again. Karine says another favourite activity is vacuuming.
Karine was making some vegetable soup in the kitchen. Just before lunch, Samuel showed off his Halloween skunk costume made by his Mom. He liked playing with his new water pump (from Croatia); just blowing air was fun. He had a good lunch and then was off for his nap about 12:30.
He will be trick or treating at a street in Wakefield Halloween night – enjoying the other kids in costume and sharing his loot with his parents.

Samuel, Kirk & Boots visit 9 Lambert

October 2, 2011

Kirk and Samuel came over to 9 Lambert for a Sunday visit while Karine was at work. We enjoyed our playtime together. Samuel demonstrated his apple eating skills. He munched on English Monkey for lunch.

After a 2.5 hour nap, he was ready for more play. We hiked over to the apartment building where Boots could run in the grass and Samuel, Grant and Boots could test out the playstructure.

When Karine joined us at suppertime, he experimented with playing the piano for the first time...  finally it was time to put on his shoes and head home. He won`t see his grandparents for three weeks are they are off to Croatia tomorrow.
