As Grandpa was away at VenClimb, Barbara and Grant popped up to Chelsea Saturday morning for a visit with Samuel (and his parents). Kirk and Karine were working on their new treehouse. Grant and Samuel played, mostly pushing around his stroller. The most fun was loading the trailer with gravel, which Kirk is taking to the NAC on Monday, for a set. A good morning.

Samuel celebrates an early Thanksgiving
What a fun weekend at Grand lac des Cèdres. Samuel and his family arrived for lunch on Saturday. He sampled chocolate fondue. After a nap, he explored the property – he always heads for the water.
He celebrated an early Thanksgiving with the Tims and Brownlees as his grandparents will be away in Croatia for the official date. He was very sociable.
On Sunday, he was up early enjoying a bowl of Cheerios.
Karine went for a run and Kirk walked him over to the Brownlees to try out their playstructure and to check the progress on their new chalet. More exploring. Before he left he practised horseshoes, played his harmonica and did a little dance on the deck.

Samuel discovers wilderness canoe camping
September 3-4, 2011
Because of impending rain, the family and visitors decided to leave together late Sunday afternoon. More paddling and portaging.
Although Samuel was squeezed into his family canoe with his parents, two dogs and camping and fishing gear, he enjoyed his view from the bow (a natural spot for a Bowman).
The camping destination was Lac Vert, past Lac Ste. Marie over a very bumpy unserviced road. Followed by a major portage of 600m, hilly and muddy. He hiked it, following his Mom who was wearing a big yellow pack. Negotiating through three little lakes and crossing another portage, he arrived at the beautiful clear blue-green Lac Vert.
He loves water, so got right in to test it out (and to get cleaned up). His parents built a little “bateau” which he could pull with a string. When Barbara, Bill and Grant arrived on Sunday, he could show them his water skills. The camping destination was Lac Vert, past Lac Ste. Marie over a very bumpy unserviced road. We shared our stories over dinner together at Samuel’s home (although he quickly went to bed to rest up for another fun day).

On the Friday before the wedding he heads up to the Barn, near Wakefield . While adults are busy setting up for the wedding, Samuel naps upstairs in the Barn. When he wakes up, Karine waves to him from below.
On the wedding day, he greets his Aunt Cathy in the early afternoon, looking very cool in his diaper. After a nap, he is dresses up for his role as ringbearer. Luckily he likes sitting a wagon, so he travels along with his aunts Natasha and Natalie and his cousin Kayla. At the critical moment, he runs to his parents holding a little navy bag with the rings. He is back in the wagon for the processional after the wedding. What a star!
Samuel joins his parents for dinner, then drifts off to sleep in the Honeymoon suite.
